What happens next ? First task is to contact the Membership Secretary, complete a\u00a0<em>Section 21 Declaration<\/em>\u00a0(a formal statement declaring that you are not prohibited from owning or accessing a firearm)\u00a0 and arrange to come along to one of our range days where you can find out more about the club and decide if you really do want to join. You\u2019ll have the opportunity to meet members of the club and see our facilities.<\/p>\n<p>If you decide that you still want to join us, the next step is<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to pick up and complete a physical application form,<\/li>\n<li>go to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/membermojo.co.uk\/sprpc\" target=\"_top\">membermojo.co.uk\/sprpc<\/a>\u00a0and sign up online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We notify the police that you are proposing to join us and if there are no objections you can then attend one of our quarterly Induction &amp; safety Training Days, pay your membership\u00a0 fee, currently \u00a3150, and thereafter begin attending the club as a probationary member.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Initial Induction and Safety Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prospective new members are required to attend one of our quarterly induction and safety training days. On this day we will initially talk you through the safety requirements and demonstrate the safe operation of different types of firearm. This will then be followed by time on the range where this theory will be put into practice using a wide range of firearms\u00a0 under 1 to 1 supervision.<\/p>\n<p>We typically start the Induction Day at 10:00, beginning with an hour spent in the cabin explaining the safety rules required when shooting and demonstrating the various types of guns available for use at the club. This is followed by time on the range where you will learn, under supervision, to use the guns already demonstrated. These typically comprise:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Blackpowder musket<\/li>\n<li>.22 bolt action rifle<\/li>\n<li>.22 semi-automatic rifle<\/li>\n<li>.22 pump action rifle<\/li>\n<li>pistol calibre underlever rifle (&#8220;Winchester&#8221; cowboy style)<\/li>\n<li>centrefire bolt action rifle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The induction day generally concludes around 14:00.\u00a0 \u00a0A charge of \u00a325 is made to cover the cost of the ammunition used.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of this Induction day, you can then become a probationary member of the club and begin your 6 month training programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joining \u2013 first steps So, you have read the website and decided you want to to join the club.
