In this role, it is usually\u00a0belt fed\u00a0with GP 11\u00a0full metal jacket\u00a0and GP 11\u00a0tracer\u00a0rounds.<\/p>\n<p>The 11.3\u00a0gramme (174 grain) Full Metal Jacket GP 11\u00a0spitzer bullet\u00a0offered good aerodynamic efficiency and ballistic performance with a\u00a0ballistic coefficient\u00a0(G1 BC) of 0.505 to 0.514 (ballistic coefficients are somewhat debatable). At 780\u00a0m\/s (2,560\u00a0ft\/s) muzzle velocity the standard GP 11 ball bullet retained\u00a0supersonic\u00a0velocity up to 800\u00a0m (875 yards) (V<sub>800<\/sub>\u00a0\u2248\u00a0Mach\u00a01.1) under\u00a0ICAO Standard Atmosphere\u00a0conditions at sea level (air density\u00a0\u03c1 = 1.225\u00a0kg\/m<sup>3<\/sup>). Even by contemporary standards 800 m (875 yards) typical effective range is quite remarkable for a standard military rifle round.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/7.5x55mm_Schmidt_Rubin#cite_note-2\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>GP 11 is regarded as highly accurate and well-manufactured ammunition. Due to the increased availability of K31 rifles on the civilian market, a number of cartridge manufacturers, including\u00a0Prvi Partizan\u00a0and\u00a0Hornady, now produce 7.5\u00d755mm rounds in\u00a0full metal jacket,\u00a0soft-tip, and ballistic tip configurations. Few, if any, of these rounds match the quality and production tolerances of the original Swiss military ammunition and\u00a0most Swiss match shooters use standard GP 11 ammunition, a testament to the accuracy of the GP 11 round.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the standard Full Metal Jacket GP 11 rounds, specialty rounds were produced as well.\u00a0Armour<a title=\"Armor-piercing shot and shell\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Armor-piercing_shot_and_shell#Armor-piercing_ammunition\">&#8211;<\/a>piercing\u00a0steel-cored rounds can be identified by their violet bases.
